U2 Phenomenon

"Joshua Tree"

That's the first U2 album that I owned. To be completely honest, it was given to me by my friend Dave who is the biggest U2 fan! The first time I ever heard about U2 was at church on a sunday morning. At that time we were meeting at a school and the cafeteria was our sanctuary. While sitting in the pews...ooppss..I mean cafeteria tables, the sounds of U2 echo against the walls. I just figured they were some popular christian rock group. Unbeknownst to me, this group of guys who are not under a christian record label, would rock my world. There songs take me to a place that transend the surface of the american christian church. I am one who desires to hear songs that speak about the realities of life, love and difficulties. I guess in a sense I am a realist, but all I really desire is the importance of honesty in music or writing. U2 has the ability to be honest and use this gift to reach the broadest of audiences. For this reason, I have serious respect and love for U2!

By the way, I got the Joshua Tree album in exchange for dogsitting while my friend and his family were out of town. It was the best payment that I could have ever received. Yes, even better than cash!
